discovered this book the other day whilst wandering around London and it took me about two seconds to decide to buy it.

'Super #1 Robot: Japanese Robot Toys 1972 -1982.' It may well be the best book ever (on Japanese robot toys at least.)

It's got more than 200 pictures of these amazing creations with names like Baltan Seijin, Gan Gara Ganchan and Wanbunya. I've only managed to have a quick skim through so far but I think that it will provide plenty of inspiration.

realise that I can't keep track of everything robot related that's going on in the world, from Honda adverts to Bill Gates saying that every home will have a fighting robot within the next 10 years (or something like that, I couldn't be bothered to read the whole article), but this is big. The new Transformers movie is coming out this Summer; it will almost certainly be crap, but giant fighting robots, fighting on the big screen can't be all bad.
